Giant Red Castor Bean

(Ricinus communis) Castor Bean seeds have been found buried in the sarcophagi of the Egyptian pharaohs who used castor oil in their lamps. Thomas Jefferson grew Castor Beans at Monticello. Giant Reds have beautiful crimson foliage and giant maroon leaves, each up to three feet across. Impressive in groups or statuesque and appealing alone.
