Opopeo Amaranth

(Amaranthus hybridus) Grown for grain production by ancient peoples of Central America, Mexico, and the American Southwest. We grow these for their strong presence in any garden bed - whether alone as a striking specimen plant or in a head-turning mass planting, the large red spiky seed heads and handsome bronze tinged foliage add late summer impact. Birds of all kinds will feast on the seeds during late summer. Most/full sun - 5-7 feet - Re-seeding annual - 50+ seeds/pack.
