(Nigella damascena) Grown in US gardens since the 1800s, Love in a Mist is an early summer performer, along with Larkspurs and Poppies. The 2-3 inch blooms are a bright gentle blue and followed by striped seed pods that dry well. The foliage is fern like and airy (the ‘mist’ from its name). A beautiful re-seeder that thrives in poor conditions. Most/full sun - 2 feet - Seeds should be planted in cold conditions - from November through late April. Re-seeding Annual - 50+ seeds.
